Udyam Registration is a government initiative to promote and support small businesses in India. It replaces the earlier system of MSME registration (Udyog Aadhaar) and provides a unique identification number to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Step 1: Check Eligibility for Udyam Registration

Businesses are classified based on investment and turnover:

Documents Required for Udyam Registration

- Aadhaar Number (of the proprietor, partner, or director)

Step 2: Online Registration Process

Option 1: Register on Udyam Portal (Without GST)

2. Click on "For New Entrepreneurs who are not Registered yet as MSME"

3. Enter Aadhaar Number and business owner’s name.

4. Verify Aadhaar via OTP.

5. Fill in business details (name, type, address, NIC code, etc.).

6. Enter investment and turnover details.

7. Submit the form.

8. Receive Udyam Registration Number (URN) and e-certificate.

Option 2: Register with GST (Auto-Populated Details)

- If your business has GST, the portal fetches details automatically from the GST database.

- Simply verify and submit the form.

Step 3: Download Udyam Certificate

- After successful registration, download the Udyam Registration Certificate from the portal.

- The certificate contains a QR Code for verification.

Step 6: Updating/Modifying Udyam Registration

- If business details change (investment, turnover, etc.), update them on the portal.

- No fee for modification.
